I love coding but I’m not a developer. I come from an operational background, systems and network adminstration before I moved into information security as my primary role.
I write programs related to security, hence they are both offensive in purpose and, to most purist developers, offensive to read. I code in python, ruby, bash, c#, java, perl and just about anything else I need to code in.
The right language to use is the one which gets the job done best. If you want code religion this is not the place to find it.
I firmly believe once you have a grasp of the basics, particularly of object-oriented programming, you can apply that to any language. Code by Google is allowed!
